Ruby G. (Breault) Murphy, age 98, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2021 at Linda Manor in Northampton. Ruby was born in the Aldenville section of Chicopee, daughter of the late Alphonse and Rosanna (Jarvis) Breault and was a 1941 graduate of Cathedral High School. Before raising her family, Ruby worked at Standard Oil Company. She was a longtime parishioner of Blessed Sacrament Church in Holyoke and spent many years volunteering at JERICHO, the Bureau for Exceptional Children and Adults. Ruby was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Her greatest joy in life was spending time with her family and friends, which included countless holiday celebrations and many trips to Cape Cod. She was a terrific cook and baker and was always eager to “fix” your favorite meal. She was predeceased by her husband, Berton J. Murphy, in 2004. They were married in St. Rose De Lima church on April 22, 1946 and were blessed with over 58 years of happiness. She is survived by their five sons: Timothy and his wife Maureen of Charlestown, RI, David and his wife Marcia of Jaffrey, NH, Robert and his wife Erin of Granby, Jeffrey and his wife Linda of Hadley, and John Murphy and his wife Suki of Hickory Creek, TX; her 16 cherished grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Ruby was predeceased by her two sisters: Vivian Smith and Rachel Fulton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 30, 2021 at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, Holyoke. A private family burial will be held. There are no calling hours.
