On Monday, March 2, 2026 our beloved, kind hearted, soft spoken mother, Shirley A (Girard) LeTellier, age 91, was called home. She was born in Holyoke to the late George and Dorothy (Tessier ) Girard and was the salutatorian graduate of Holyoke high school. She was a dental assistant for a brief time, was also a bookkeeper and a proud salon owner of 38 years. She was a devoted Girl Scout leader for 25 years. She enjoyed caring for her flower gardens and cooking was her passion, hosting for every holiday, always making Christmas magical. She and our father enjoyed bringing us camping all over the United States and later traveling as a couple. When the love of her life died, she then began traveling internationally with their wonderful son David to many beautiful places. Camping in Maine was one of her favorite places. Shirley was the queen of Disney always saying she loved reigning over her kingdoms. Shirley’s beautiful smile will be forever missed by one and all.
Shirley is predeceased by her husband, Alcide R.LeTellier, her son David R. LeTellier and her brother, George Girard Jr. She is survived by her four daughters: Deborah Michon and her husband, Stephen of Easthampton, Doreen Jakubasz and her husband, Lance of Wilbraham, Dianne Kelliher of Holyoke and Donna Beaudry and her husband Thomas of Belchertown., her sister in law Debra Girard of Holyoke, and her sister in law Jeanne O’Connell and her husband John of Holyoke, nine grandchildren, 10 great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
The funeral will be held on Friday March 13th at 8:30 am from Barry J Farrell funeral home, 2049 Northampton St. followed by a Christian burial at 9:30 am at the Blessed sacrament church, 1945 Northampton St. both of Holyoke. Committal will be held at 11 am in the chapel of the MA. Veterans Memorial Cemetery 1390 Main St., Agawam. Calling hours will be held in the funeral home on March 12th from 4 to 7pm.
