Stanley Edward “Chuck” Sadakierski, 88, of Granby, passed away peacefully on Thursday, April 15, 2021 at Care One in Northampton. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late Walter and Rose (Gazda) Sadakierski, and graduated from Holyoke schools. Stanley was a United States Army veteran serving in Alaska during the Korean War, and after his military service, he joined the Holyoke Fire Department in 1957. He served the city of Holyoke for more than 34 years, retiring with the rank of Captain in 1991. He also served at the Marian Center in Holyoke for 60 years. He loved spending time at home with his dogs, especially Tully. Stan is survived by his wife of 46 years, Carol (Kownacki) Sadakierski, of South Deerfield, with whom he traveled; his former wife and mother of his children, Joan Sadakierski; 2 children: Stanley E. Sadakierski Jr. and wife Dorry of Westfield, and Sandra J. Crowner and husband Michael of Belchertown; 5 grandchildren: Matthew Crowner, Allison Crowner, Jonathan Crowner (Olivia), Katie Sadakierski, and Jenna Sadakierski. He also leaves behind 3 stepchildren: Pamela Delaney (Kevin), Sharon Delaney, and Michael Delaney; 5 step-grandchildren: Kayla Delaney, Justice Delaney, Hayden Delaney, Greyson Clancey, and Parker Clancey; and his dear friend, Tony Gazda, who was like a brother to him. Stanley was predeceased by his brother, Edward Sadakierski. Committal Prayers with United States Army Military Honors will be held on Wednesday, April 21st at 11:00 a.m. in the Chapel of the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. Visitation will be held on Wednesday, April 21, 2021, from 9:00 to 10:15 a.m. at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Marian Center, 1365 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA, 01040.
