Stephen E. Westcott Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Stephen E. “Steve” Westcott, 70, of Holyoke, MA, who passed away peacefully on Monday, June 30, 2025 surrounded by his loving family.
Steve was born on May 28th, 1955, in Bellows Falls, Vermont, to Teresa and Richard Westcott. He spent his early years in Alstead, New Hampshire, before moving to Holyoke, Massachusetts, during childhood—a city he proudly called home for the rest of his life. It was here that Steve built a life full of love, laughter, hard work, and deep connections to his community.
Known for his kindness, humor, and generosity, Steve touched the lives of everyone who knew him. He served in the United States Navy and then dedicated over 50 years to the pest control industry, beginning his career as a technician and eventually becoming the president and CEO of his own successful business, A.O.K. Pest Control, Inc. in Holyoke.
From a young age and throughout his years at Holyoke High School, Steve had a deep passion for sports. He played baseball, basketball, and football, and remained active well into adulthood as an avid racquetball and golf player. He was also a lifelong, devoted fan of the Boston Red Sox and New England Patriots.
Above all, Steve was a proud and devoted father to his daughter Ellie and son Eric, and a loving grandfather to his three grandchildren. He was a family man in every sense—steadfast, warm, and full of love. His kindness and gentle spirit created a sense of comfort and belonging, and his deep care for those closest to him was felt in everything he did.
Steve is survived by his children, Ellie Westcott and Eric Westcott (wife Jessica), and his beloved grandchildren, Xavier Toledo, Savannah Westcott, and Sierra Westcott. He is also lovingly remembered by his brother, Stewart J. Westcott (wife Mary Ann), and his sisters, Sheila Champagne (husband Bob) and Sally Mosher (husband Chuck). He leaves behind his sisters-in-law Peggy Reynolds, Robin Westcott, and Terri Westcott, as well as his sister-in-law and brother-in-law Ann and Walter Nalesnik. Steve will also be deeply missed by his many cherished nieces, nephews, and dear friends.
He was predeceased by his parents, Teresa and Richard Westcott; his wife of 20 years, Beth Westcott; and his siblings Sonya Westcott, Sandy Westcott, Scott Westcott, and Richard “Sarge” Westcott.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 8th, from 4:00 to 6:00 PM at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Steve’s honor to a charity of your choice. Steve will be deeply missed and forever remembered in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
