Thomas Fitzgerald Lavelle

Thomas Fitzgerald Lavelle, age 57, of Holyoke, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, October 22, 2023. He was born in Holyoke, a son of the late Charles E. and Carol A. (Fitzgerald) Lavelle and was a 1984 graduate of Holyoke Catholic High School. Tom also attended Holyoke Community College. He was a great athlete and an all-around handy man. He worked as a finish carpenter for many years, and mastered plumbing and electrical work as well. Tom was a communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He is survived by a brother, Charles E. “Chuck” Lavelle Jr. and his wife Maureen, and their children, Sean M. Lavelle and Rory A. Lavelle; an aunt Maureen Desormier, as well as many cousins and friends. Tommy will be missed by many. The funeral will be held Saturday, October 28th at 10:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:30 a.m. at Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street. Burial will follow at Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the funeral home on Saturday morning from 8:30 to 10:00 a.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Sisters of Saint Joseph Retirement Fund, 577 Carew Street, Springfield MA 01104.
