Timothy K. Holtan, Jr. Obituary

Timothy Kent Holtan Jr., 47, of Holyoke, MA, passed away on April 11, 2026, from injuries sustained in a bike accident.

Born on September 6, 1978, to Bonnie and Timothy Holtan Sr., Tim was affectionately known as “Timmy” to many and “T” to his family. He lived a life defined by love, resilience, and an adventurous spirit. He attended Holyoke High School and worked as an apprentice electrician, where he was known to be hardworking, generous with his time and always willing to take on any task.

Tim is survived by his loving children, Ashley Holtan (Joey), Ethan Holtan (Becca), and Gracie Holtan, who remember him as fearless, courageous, adventurous, and someone who truly lived life to the fullest. He created lasting memories with them, from jumping into the water at High Rock to bike rides alongside his son. His grandchildren, Zyeus, Reny, Killian, and Neteyam, brought him immense pride and joy.

His daughter shared a heartfelt reflection that captures the depth of his love. She shared that even when they were apart, she felt his presence “in the sun” because of everything he taught her and the love he gave so freely. She never once questioned his love. While she was living in New York, he called her every single day just to make sure she was safe and okay. Her words reflect a bond that will never be broken and a love that will always endure.

“T” is also survived by his mother, Bonnie Holtan; his sisters, Colleen Holtan, Kimmy Kennedy (Marc), Theresa McKay, and Tammy Schmidt (Carl); and Leah Lamoureux, a deeply cherished companion with whom he shared a meaningful and enduring bond. Timmy also leaves behind a large extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and many friends who will miss him dearly. He was predeceased by his father, Timothy Holtan Sr.

Timmy will be remembered for his big blue eyes, his soft-spoken nature, and his incredibly kind heart. His siblings and loved ones recall his sense of humor, his ability to make others laugh, and the joy he brought. He had a creative soul, often expressing himself through drawings and crafting handmade rings, and he found peace in being active and outdoors.

Above all, Tim had an immense capacity for love, especially for his family, and carried a deep sense of peace and devotion as a father, son, brother, and friend.

Timmy will be remembered by all for having the biggest heart. He was always quick to offer kindness, lend a helping hand, and make those around him feel valued and loved. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that you honor Tim’s memory by performing a random act of kindness and taking a moment to think of him.

A funeral service will be held on Wednesday April 15 at 4:30pm in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke. Burial will be private and at convenience of the family. Visitation will be prior to the service from 2:00 to 4:30pm.
