HOLYOKE

Timothy Joseph Kennedy, age 91, passed away peacefully Sunday November 22, 2020 at Baystate Medical Center in Springfield. Timothy (Teddy) was born in Holyoke, son of the late Timothy P. and Mary (Flahive) Kennedy, and attended Sacred Heart High School and Monson Academy. He served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army from 1951 to 1953. Ted retired in 1998 from the United States Postal Service after 37 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion Post #325, the Holyoke Lodge of Elks #902, Holyoke Postal Credit Union, and was an avid golfer as part of the Holyoke Country Club “Wild Geese” league. Ted is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Ethel M. (Redding) Kennedy; four children: Brian J. Kennedy and his wife Nancy of New Hampshire, Jo-Ann Ginley and her husband Terry of South Hadley, Timothy M. Kennedy of Worcester, and Kelly A. Tashjian and her husband David of Longmeadow; 8 grandchildren: Ashley Kennedy, Alyssa Grumoli, Patrick Ginley, Brittany Kennedy, Matt Grumoli, Meghan Ginley, Sean Tashjian, and Conor Tashjian.  He is also survived by his brother in law Walter and wife Dorothy Redding and the entire Richter family. He was predeceased by a brother, John Kennedy and wife Bridget. Ted will be missed by his many close friends, golfing partners and card players.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday November 30 at 10:30am in Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street, Holyoke. Masks and social distancing are required. Burial will be private and there are no calling hours. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in memory of Timothy to:  Jericho or the Alzheimer’s Association.  The Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling arrangements.
