Timothy Perry Obituary

Timothy George Perry, beloved brother and cherished family member, passed away peacefully in Springfield, MA on October 9, 2023, with his brothers, Scott and Jim, and sister-in-law, Lisa, by his side. Tim is survived by his brothers, Scott and Jim, as well as his aunt, Deborah McSheehy, sister-in-law, Lisa Perry, niece, Nicole Perry, and his two nephews, Ryan and Jack Perry, as well as numerous cousins; all whom he loved dearly. He is predeceased by his parents, Buffie Busch Perry and Edward H. Perry. Tim was born on February 15, 1967, and was a life-long resident of Holyoke, MA. He graduated from Holyoke High School in 1985. Despite his health challenge, he completed an Associates Degree from Holyoke Community College and a Bachelors Degree from American International College in Accounting. Tim’s greatest happiness was spending much time with family and friends– especially when it involved friendly competition. Tim had a profound passion for chess, cribbage and the card game pitch. His enthusiasm for these games brought joy and camaraderie to countless gatherings, leaving fond memories for all who had the privilege of playing alongside him and trying to ‘beat Tim’ at chess, for example. Tim, ‘Uncle Timmy,’ or ‘Timbo,’ cared deeply about his family and loved holidays at their homes and summer visits at the lake. He paid special attention to holidays and birthdays. He took careful time in choosing the right card with his own heartfelt and personal message that made you feel loved by him. Tim also enjoyed walking and socializing with neighbors and friends. After his beloved mom passed away in 2012, Tim continued her tradition of planting dahlias and roses around his home for friends and neighbors to enjoy. Tim loved all things chocolate, a very well-done steak, a cup of coffee, and an ice-cold Pepsi. Tim was also a lifelong Dallas Cowboys fan and Boston Red Sox fan, and enjoyed playing baseball himself as a youth. A wake to celebrate Timothy's life will be held on Sunday, October 15, 2023, from 1pm - 4pm at the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA. Family and friends are invited to join together to honor his memory, share stories, and offer their final farewells. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to the Epilepsy Foundation, as Tim believed in giving to others and making the world a better place, via epilepsy.com, with memory in Tim's name. Tim will be remembered for his warm infectious smile, love for games, and the deep bonds he formed with his family and friends. Tim touched the lives of many people he met throughout the years and made a profound impact on them. He will be deeply missed. He now finds peace as he joins his parents and loved ones. His memory will continue to live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
