Tricia Marie Hennessey passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 11, 2026, after a courageous battle with cancer.
Tricia, the beloved daughter of Patricia K. Hennessey, was raised in Holyoke. She later made her home in Chicopee, where she resided for the past decade.
She is also survived by her loving, lifelong partner, Russell A. Johnson of Chicopee.
Tricia leaves behind her devoted aunt and Godmother, Kathleen M. Perry of Holyoke; her cousin, Kimberly Izquierdo, along with her husband Luiz and their two children, her Godson Wesley and Natalie Izquierdo, who she cherished and meant the world to her.
She was predeceased by her maternal grandparents, Anne and Patrick Hennessey; her uncle, William F. Hennessey; her aunt, Anne Louise Hennessey, and her cousin David M. Hennessey.
Tricia attended Mater Dolorosa School for grades K–8 and later attended Holyoke High School. She will be deeply missed by her many friends, especially Patti Bagg and her childhood friend, Julie Lagoy.
Tricia had a deep passion for music, animals, and, above all, art. An award-winning artist, she was widely admired for her beautiful paintings and pastels. She found great joy in creating crafts and artwork for her family and friends, sharing her talent with those she loved. Tricia was a longtime member of the Holyoke League of Arts and Crafts, where she proudly served as President for several years, leaving a lasting impact on the community.
For the past 12 years, Tricia was employed at Pioneer Packaging Inc. in Chicopee, where she was a valued and beloved member of the team. She truly loved her work and her coworkers.
The funeral will be held Friday, April 17 at 9:00 from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Saint Patrick Chapel of Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will follow at Saint Jerome Cemetery. Calling hours will be held on Thursday, April 16 from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, Tricia requested that donations be made to the Cancer House of Hope in West Springfield, MA.
