Virginia Velazquez, 84, of Holyoke,MA passed away peacefully at Holyoke Medical Center surrounded by family and friends on Tuesday September 2, 2025. Born October 18, 1940, in Juncos, Puerto Rico, she was one of 13 siblings. She was the beloved wife of Pablo Velazquez for 65 years and worked for many years as a food service worker with Holyoke Public Schools. She will be remembered as a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend whose faith and love touched all who knew her. She is survived by her husband Pablo Velazquez, her daughter Isolina Velazquez and husband Micheal Oates, first granddaughter Amber Oates, her son Kenneth Velazquez and wife Johanna Velazquez, second granddaughter Dalaisha Velazquez, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
Funeral Service will be held on September 6, 2025, at Barry J. Farrel Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA. Viewing and Visitation will be held from 8:00am to 9:30am. A short memorial service will be given from 9:30am to 9:50am followed by a funeral procession and burial at Forestdale Cemetery West, 210 Rock Valley Road, Holyoke, MA 01040.
Virginia Velázquez, de 84 años y residente de Holyoke, Massachusetts, falleció pacíficamente en el Centro Médico Holyoke, rodeada de familiares y amigos, el martes 2 de septiembre de 2025. Nacida el 18 de octubre de 1940 en Juncos, Puerto Rico, fue una de 13 hermanos. Fue la amada esposa de Pablo Velázquez durante 65 años y trabajó durante muchos años como empleada de servicio de alimentos en las Escuelas Públicas de Holyoke. Será recordada como una devota esposa, madre, abuela, hermana y amiga, cuya fe y amor conmovieron a todos los que la conocieron. El funeral se llevará a cabo el 6 de septiembre de 2025 en la Funeraria Barry J. Farrel, ubicada en 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke, MA. El velatorio tendrá lugar de 8:00 a 9:30 h.
