Wallace C. “Wally” Manijak, devoted husband and beloved father, passed away on February 9, 2025, at the age of 81. He was born on July 30, 1943, in Holyoke, son of the late Mary and Walter Manijak and attended Holyoke schools. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Vietnam War era as a SP 4 from 1964 to 1966. Following his military service, Wallace worked at Chester's Drugstore and then for the City of Holyoke, where he became the Commissioner of Veterans Services. A devout member of Our Lady of the Cross, Wallace found joy in playing the lottery and the occasional visit to the casino.
He will be dearly missed by his wife of over 50 years, Carol (Rosinski) Manijak; his son, Jeffrey Manijak, and his wife, Angie Manijak, of North Granby, CT; and his three sisters, Catherine Leary, Helen Kuzeja, and Dorothy Quenneville, all of Holyoke, MA. He also leaves many nieces, nephews and friends. Wallace was predeceased by his daughter, Laura Manijak, in 2003, who he dearly missed. He was also predeceased by his siblings, Walter, Evelyn, Edward (Earl), John, Stanley, and Mary Manijak.
The funeral will be held on Friday, February 14th at 9:00 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, followed by a Mass at 10:00 a.m. in Our Lady of the Cross Parish Church, Holy Cross Avenue. Burial will follow at Mater Dolorosa Cemetery in South Hadley.
