William T. Guertin

William Thomas Guertin, 84, of Holyoke, MA passed away peacefully on August 15, 2023. A longtime resident of Holyoke, he was well loved by the community and will be greatly missed. William was born in Holyoke, MA to the late William F. and Rena (Bourque) Guertin. He graduated from Sacred Heart High School in 1956 and served in the U.S. Marine Corps. Throughout his lifetime, William worked for Storms Drop Forge in Springfield, MA before retiring to Henderson, Nevada. True to his passions, he loved playing poker machines, golfing, going on cruises and traveling the world with his late wife, Joan, of 61 years. Together, William and Joan formed a lasting love and raised a beautiful family together, and are now together again in heaven. As such, William leaves a sister, Mary Guertin, two sons: William and his wife of Holyoke, MA, and Kenneth of Westfield, MA, as well as a daughter, Kimm and her husband of Ludlow, MA. William was blessed with six grandchildren: Curtis Simpson, Derek Simpson and his wife, Taylor Simpson and her fiance, Sydney Wozniak and her husband, Tyler Guertin, Ken Guertin, and one great-grandchild, Carter Simpson. All of whom will miss him dearly and cherish the memories he provided them with. Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial for William on Monday, August 21st at 10:00 am in Blessed Sacrament Church, 1945 Northampton Street, Holyoke, followed by burial in Saint Rose Cemetery in South Hadley. There are no calling hours and the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home is handling the services.
