William John Hunter Obituary
William John Hunter was born December 23, 1943 in Holyoke, MA. Bill went to heaven on December 12, 2024 at Renaissance Manor in Holyoke. He is survived by his wife of 16 years Susan (Hanby) Hunter. He was the son of the late Adeline (Stephen) Hunter who passed in Feb. 2007, and he was predeceased by his younger sister Linda (Hunter) Reed who died in Brookport, IL in Feb. 2009. Bill graduated Holyoke High School in 1962 and went on to serve in the United States Air Force both at home and overseas. During the 1980s through 2003, Hunter was a Program Quality Manager/QA Contracts Specialist for United Technologies Sikorski Aircraft and Pratt & Whitney. Hunter was subsequently employed by the Staples, Inc. legal department in Framingham, MA. Bill and Susan have known each other since September 1956 when they entered the John J. Lynch Junior High School. Together they have been members of the United Congregational Church of Holyoke for more than 65 years, both serving in various capacities at the church, including the Diaconate. Special thanks to Renaissance Manor on Cabot, New England Hospice, and Veteran’s Services for their generous caring spirit and keeping Bill comfortable, it is greatly appreciated. Family and friends are invited to attend Bill’s committal service on Wednesday December 18 at 1:00pm in Forestdale Cemetery, 304 Cabot Street, Holyoke. There are no calling hours.
