William Kenneth Koszewski, 86, passed away on Thursday, November 26, 2020, at home with his family. A life-long resident of Holyoke, William “Bill” was born on August 8, 1934, son of the late William M. and Viola (Bigelow) Koszewski. Bill attended Mater Dolorosa School, Holyoke High School, Holyoke Community College, and received his BS in Management from American International College in Springfield in 1955. He served his country in the United States Army from 1957 to 1959, stationed in Europe. Bill retired in 1993 as a Second Vice President after a 34-year career at Massachusetts Mutual Life Insurance Company, where he earned his Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) credential in 1970. In retirement, he volunteered as a Massachusetts SHINE (Serving the Health Insurance Needs of Everyone) Counselor and was honored with the Governor’s Award for Outstanding Health Benefits Counseling in 2000. A talented musician, Bill played piano professionally with the Larry Chesky Orchestra, was a long-time member of the Chet Dragon Orchestra, and leaves numerous recording credits. Bill enjoyed photography, travel, tending his garden, and listening to jazz music. He was a 39-year member (Life Member) of the Holyoke Lodge of Elks #902, and was a faithful communicant of Blessed Sacrament Church. He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Elizabeth C. (Molitoris) Koszewski; his son William J. Koszewski of Seattle; and his brothers Richard and Robert Koszewski, both of Holyoke. The immediate services for Bill are all private and are being handled by the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home. A Memorial Service and Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association or American International College.
