William Thomas “Billy” Farrell passed away peacefully on January 23, 2025 at BayState Medical Center. A lifelong resident of Holyoke, he was the son of the late Catherine and John Farrell. He worked for the telephone company and was a Veteran of the United States Army. Billy loved to play golf and was proud of his Irish heritage. He was a devout Catholic and a beloved brother, uncle and great uncle who enjoyed his time with his family.

Besides his parents, Billy was predeceased by his brother and best friend, Jack Farrell and his brother-in-law, Robert Hurley. He is survived by his loving sister, Catherine (“Kay”) Hurley and his sister-in-law, Liz Farrell. Billy is also survived by his nieces and nephews, Kathleen (John Gallagher) Hurley, Eileen (David) Harrington, Robert (Marianne) Hurley and John (Susanna) Hurley along with nine great nieces and nephews and three beloved great-great nephews.

The Funeral will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025 at 9:00am from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in Saint Patrick Chapel of Saint Jerome Church, 169 Hampden Street. Burial will follow in Saint Jerome Cemetery, all in Holyoke. Calling hours will be held on Thursday January 30, 2025 from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
