HOLYOKE – Reinaldo Cruz, 62, passed on from this life on Tuesday June 27, 2017 at Mercy Medical Center. He was born in Puerto Rico on January 5, 1955, attended schools in Holyoke and worked for West Springfield High School where he retired after 27 years of service. Reinaldo was a student of the Holyoke South Spanish Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He is best known in the community for his musical talent. He truly enjoyed singing and entertaining family and friends at many different types of functions. Reinaldo leaves to cherish his memory, his wife of 38 years, Primitiva (Romero) Cruz of Holyoke; his three sons, Reinaldo and his wife Jennifer of Chicopee, Ricardo of Holyoke and his fiancée of Emily of Palmer and Angel and his wife Luisa of Holyoke; his two daughters Jessica Cruz of Springfield and Yahaira Cruz and her husband Onix of Holyoke. He will also be sadly missed by two brothers, 4 sisters and 9 grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Reinaldo was pre-deceased by 1 sister and 1 brother. Calling hours for Reinaldo will be Friday, July 7, 2017 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. at Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton St. Holyoke. There will be a Service of Remembrance on Friday at 7 p.m. in the funeral home immediately following the calling hours. Burial will be private and at the convenience of the family. The family has requested to please omit flowers.
