SOUTH HADLEY:  Sonia Kudla, age 65, of South Hadley, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Saturday, August 12, 2017.  Sonia was the daughter of Mary and Joe Kudla of Holyoke, wife of Jim Armstrong, Jr., of South Hadley, sister to Stas Kudla of Vashon Island, WA, and Patricia Ross of Belchertown. She was predeceased by a sister, Constance. Sonia has many beloved nieces and nephews including Krista and Michael Giacopassi, Joel Kudla, Chaya McGrath and Jasmine Pennick. Sonia attended Holyoke Public Schools and was a 1973 graduate of UMass Amherst. After several years working in medical offices in Boston and North Carolina, Sonia came back home and returned to UMass where she had a thirty-year career as Business Manager for the Fine Arts Center. Sonia enjoyed kayaking, cross country skiing, and vacations to Maine and Nova Scotia with her husband Jim. There is no doubt that the most important aspect of Sonia’s life was her loving relationships with friends and family as evidenced by the outpouring of love and support from all of her family and friends during her difficult battle with cancer. Thank you all. God Bless. Funeral Service will be held Friday at 11:30 a.m. in the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, 2049 Northampton Street, Holyoke.
