HOLYOKE

William S. McPhee Jr., age 65, of Holyoke, passed away at his home on Sunday, July 9, 2017, surrounded by his wife and family. He was born in Holyoke, son of the late William S. and Juanita McPhee and was educated in the Holyoke schools. Bill was a United States Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1970 to 1972. He was a quality engineer machinist for many years at Atlas Copco in Holyoke and Delta Machine and Tool Company in Palmer. Bill was a member of American Legion Post 351 in Holyoke, and was a past president and member of American Legion Post 438 in Chicopee. He was a huge NASCAR fan, and enjoyed attending their races and events. He is survived by his wife of forty-six years, Mary E. (Moreau) McPhee, a son Jason W. McPhee and his wife Sharon of Holyoke; a daughter Katie M. Walker and her husband Nick of Chicopee; four grandchildren: Jessica and Erica McPhee, Devin and Lauren Walker; two sisters: Susan Tisdell of Chicopee and Sandra Martins of Holyoke, a nephew and several nieces. Bill was predeceased by a brother, James McPhee. The family is especially grateful to his daughter-in-law, Sharon who cared for him during his illness. Funeral will be held Thursday, July 13^th at 9:30 a.m. from the Barry J. Farrell Funeral Home, followed by a committal service with military honors at 11:00 a.m. at the Massachusetts Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 1390 Main Street, Agawam. There are no calling hours.
